Kenzie goes Jet skiing for the first time!

Every summer Jason and I love going to the lake and taking the jet ski's out! Well, yesterday it was time for Kenzie to get in on the jet ski action! We headed out to the lake with 3 of our neighbors and had a blast! We spent an awesome afternoon boating, jet skiing and just hanging out together! It was the first time we had ever gone out with a group of our neighbors and we had a really fun time! One of our neighbors had family in town that had a 10 month old boy that Kenzie loved playing with! They sat in the water digging up sand (picking up sand too and trying to give it to me!)and had a great time together! They were so cute! Before we left we decided to put Kenz on the ski for a quick spin. First of, she's not a big fan of the life jacket, so she had to get over that. Once she realized it was not coming off, Jason putted around with her, and she started getting into it!! We're getting her ready for our next lake adventure when we go camping in a few weeks!! Summer's not over yet......:)

Well, being that we are all back in town, we thought that it would be a good time to get a family photo taken as well as get some pictures of Kenzie at 14 months old! Have a 14 month old stand still for pictures for a good half hour, no problem, right??? HA!! First off she had to say hi to everyone in the studio! Right, of course, what was I thinking?! Then, when she was in front of the camera she was more interested in playing with the props they had, ie. feather boa's and beach balls! Anyhow, we did get a few cute shots and had some fun! Here they are! (Oh yeah, and the family photo is at the top of our blog :) )

VIVA MEXICO!!!!

CANCUN '08 BABY!! What a blast!!! It has been 6 days since we returned from our wonderful vacation!! We had an absolutely awesome time! We were lucky enough to travel down to Mexico with 8 of our friends! The week was filled with A LOT of beach time (every day for at least 4 hours!), a jungle boat tour and snorkeling adventure, several nights out on the town, karaoke from 10 of Cancun's best singers (ha!!) and just some well deserved R&R! Now, while we were playing on the beach in Mexico, Miss Kenzie was having a ball playing with Grandma and Grandpa as well as her cousins and Auntie and Uncle in Albuquerque! She also fell in love with my parents dog Rosie whom she affectionately calls "Ro-Ro!" My sister and parents were so good about sending pic's of Kenz while we were gone so we could see that she was having a good time herself!

Well, one thing has become clear with Kenzie, just like me, she loves to DANCE!! It doesn't matter where, it doesn't matter with whom, if music is playing, Kenzie is groovin'! It just cracks us up to watch her! Check her out!

Oh Whoa, the Big 3-0....and 4th of July!!

This year the 4th of July was extra special because we celebrated my 30th birthday 4 days early at our annual 4th of July BBQ! Everyone always comes to our house because out in the country fireworks are permitted! We had about 25 of our friends come over and it was a blast! Jason sent me out to run errands 2 hours before the party and used his time to decorate the house in '30th birthday' decor to surprise me! He also brought the cake into the house that he had been hiding out at the neighbors! It was super sweet of him to do and of course, I loved it all!! (You know me, I love birthdays!!) Everyone had a great time and between all of our fireworks and all of our neighbors fireworks, we had quite the show until about 11:30 at night! Here's a little glimpse of the fun!

What a weekend!

During the week we are always so busy with Kenzie and I being out and about and Jason often traveling, so when the weekend comes we really try to make the most of it and have as much fun as possible!

Friday night we had our little "family date" downtown Burleson where we enjoyed some yummy mexican food! Afterwards, we walked around and listened to a band that was playing outdoors. Kenzie loves being around all of the activity so she and I were dancing and singing, and then she was walking around checking the place out!!



It is important for Jason and I to have our own special time together every now and again, so at least once a month we get a babysitter and venture out on a hot date :) It is also very important for Kenzie to realize that we can leave her, she will be okay, and we will come back! Kenzie loves her babysitter across the street but if she is not available, then Kenzie is off to one of her friend's houses which she always loves! So, Saturday night was AWESOME!!! Jason and I headed out to a wonderful steakhouse for dinner. The food was incredible! Afterwards, we met up with some friends to help celebrate a birthday at a Piano bar downtown Fort Worth. We sang for 2 and half hours straight! Then we went to pick up Kenzie who had a fun evening swimming in the baby pool with her friend Charlotte, kissing and hugging on their dog Millie, and just enjoying her own Saturday night play date!



Finally, on Sunday we put up Kenzie's swing on the porch. SHE LOVES HER SWING!! Whenever we are at the playground or at a friends house, if there is a swing there, she wants to be in it! She will swing and giggle as long as you push her!!

Our Mommy Group

Since I stopped working back in August, I knew I needed to find something to occupy both Kenzie's time and my time so she wasn't bored and I didn't go crazy! ENTER our Mom's group! We are a part of a mom's group that has 34 members and it has been the greatest thing that has happened to us! We are out of the house at least 4 out of the 5 days during the week doing all sorts of different activities. We do everything from "themed" play dates ie. planting flowers, making garden stepping stones, playing with Playdoh, swimming in backyard pools, cookie decorating, book reading to Chuck E.Cheese, the zoo, Botanical Gardens...you get the picture! The woman who organizes the group used to be a preschool teacher so her play date ideas are always creative and fun!OH, and not to mention we have Mom's Night Out without the kiddos where we have: gone to dinner, had a spa night with massages and mani/pedi's, gone bowling, gone to the movies. It is GREAT!!!

Kenzie and I have made some precious friends and it is awesome to see her play with these kiddos that she has known since she was 3 months old! There are 2 older children (3 and 4yrs old) who just love Kenz and every now and again they will be playing with her and I will overhear them say "I love you Baby Kenzie!" How sweet!!

There are 4 of us within the group that have become really close. We babysit for each other, we BBQ, we are CONSTANTLY at each other's houses! It is nice to have these relationships and people to depend on when there is no family in town. We are so lucky to have found this awesome group and to have made our wonderful friends!

Entering the world of Blogging!!

Okay, so here we are, joining the rest of the 'bloggers' out there. It is so hard to keep up with everyone as much as we would like to so we decided this would be a great way for long distance family and friends to get a glimpse of what is going on in our lives! Now seemed like a perfect time to start blogging being that Miss Kenzie Lynn just started WALKING! That's right, big news in our household! This started last Wednesday, check out the video above!
